Got to thinking about some of the inventions and innovations of the last thirty years or so. Obviously the PC has to be one if not the biggest change we've had. First PC in '81 (remember MS DOS?), the Web in '90. Then you've got the cell phone--not as big as big as a shoebox anymore. You have the IPod---amazes me, you're video gaming systems (quite different than PONG, which was pretty cool way back then). You've got cd's(already on the way out?), replacing the album--no more stacking the wax. Then of course there's all the medical stuff---and cloning! Interesting times we've been in---so what have I forgot?????

We are now a mere 4 weeks away from the reunion, and I hope everyone has their plans in place. i've had a few people tell me they have something has come up, or maybe they'll be at the next one. To them I say many things only happen once, so.....Hope to see you all in a month!

Friday, September 18, 2009

I've completed sending out informational invites to the reunion this past week. I think I've sent the info to everyone I've ever heard of on the list I have of the folks who lived in North Scott in the late 70's early 80's. There are a few I've been unable to locate, so feel free to help! Take a couple of minutes to print out the letter from the April 2 blog, and drop it in the mail to anyone you can remember from Oshkosh. We're only 30 days out now, looking for a megaload of people on the 16-17th weekend. Hoping to see you all there!!!

Top 100 Songs of 1979

Ok, here is another music playlist to get you in the mood for the reunion.  This is the Top 100 Songs of 1979.  Once again some rockin' gems, some disco hits, some sappy and some crappy.  Hearing the songs definitely gives you some flashbacks to where you were and what you were doin'.  Have fun listening!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Going through a few pictures.....anyone else remember Phil feeding the piranahs, or being the electrician when things got a little bit out of hand, or how about when he called the Vatican to talk to the Pope? Ah, great memories....

Monday, September 14, 2009

Another interesting picture from the Wichmann files.....must be those liberal college kids. Only 34 short days until the reunion, hope all your plans are going well. Be sure to check here as we get closer to October 16 for updated information.......

WELCOME TO ALL THOSE DIRECTED HERE FROM THE UW-O ALUMNI NEWS. HOPE YOU ALL CAN MAKE IT TO HOMECOMING, WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!!!!!!!

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Received an email week or 10 days ago from Ray Cyrus. He spent 4 years as a resident in North Scott (record?). The thing that got me about this was that he was on 9th floor, which was the International floor. I had completely forgotten about this. I think Marcus and Scaboo lived up there, but I don't recall ever heading up or really having much contact with those residents. Another missed opportunity. Don't know if it is still an International Floor or not. Unfortunately, Ray will not be able to join us for the reunion.

Need to know by Sept. 2o if people are interested in a North Scott tour. If there is interest we have to set it up with the Alumni Association. Let us know at northscotthall@aol.com.

Don't forget about Mel's Pig Roast in Cedarburg on the 27th.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

New feature there on the left. if you have any good questions let us know and we'll get them up....

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Here is a picture of the North Scott power structure, circa 1979 or so. I recognize Deb and Deb, the Bads, tall girl on the left, but don't know her name. What is the deal with the Quaker Oats? Thought that didn't happen until you moved off campus....

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Hope you all have a safe an relaxing Labor Day weekend with friends and family. Remember, only six weeks until North Scott Hall reunion....

Friday, September 4, 2009

Today's quick quiz.....Who are these camera shy North Scott residents? As always, some nominal prize will be awarded.

How anyone remembered the first 4 VJs I'll never know, but somehow Mary knew them all. Good for you(?), Mare......

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Difficult to believe it is only seven weeks until the reunion.....plan on wrapping up my search for people soon (depending on my clerical help), so if there is anyone you may want us to try and find, let us know soon. Need to take a moment here to address some concerns people seem to have about the reunion and why they may not be able to attend......your fish will be fine, you don't really need to change the oil, the cat does not need a bath, the boat can be winterized now!!!! I will guarantee every one of you except one that you will not be the oldest, youngest, tallest, shortest, heaviest, lightest, most successful, least successful, grayest, baldest, etc. etc. I don't think anybody really cares. Time to stop making excuses and start making plans to be in Oshkosh in October! Hope to see you there....

More Music - 1978

So we got a request to add more music lists by categories - such as by year, by type (disco, country, etc.) and so on. So here is the first list - more to come. This is the top 100 songs of 1978. Everything from disco, to sappy, to Grease.....quite the mix. Check it out.

Sittin' around listing to some tunes from 1978-1983, what I have taken to calling the "Scott Hall Era", and for some reason I got to thinking about MTV, not the bogus trash of today, but the original 1981 MTV. Got to thinking about the VJs. Okay, who were they. First correct answer should merit some sort of prize. No cheating--that means don't go looking it up. Anyone have a good memory?

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Random picture of "Johnny Rebs" here....almost looks like a quarter barrel, but that can't be because those are not allowed in the dorms, are they....besides, I have no idea how you could get one up to seventh floor, do I????? Looks like Mose to the right with the silo, too.....

Saturday, August 29, 2009

I sit here in August with the apparent onset of winter here. Reminds me of UW-O Winter Carnival from 1979. Carol (hall director) told me that we had twice as many people as any other residence hall, so we should go for it. Don't think Scott Hall had done anything in the campus activities before that, but we gave it a good run. I remember there was a snow or ice sculpting contest, a trivia contest, and of course the broom ball tournament (amongst other activities). I know some of the guys on the broom ball team were Dan, Ricky, Tom, Russ, Shoobie, and even Wenz I think (have no idea why I didn't play---seems like something I would have done). My favorite part is when I told Carol we needed more/better brooms. After much discussion she agreed, saying we could always use them for cleanup after the tournament. Of course, she wasn't very happy after we got a case of new brooms to see us sawing off the bristles so they would be more suitable for broomball. Sadly, North Scott was only able to take second place for the winter carnival. All that survives of the magnificent trophy is the face plate......guess we shouldn't have kept it on that shelf.........

Friday, August 28, 2009

Okay people, only 50 days to go......it will come and go quickly............so, firm up the plans, invite the friends, get ready for a good time.........Now, anybody know who the folks in these pictures are?????????

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Here's a picture of the guys from Thirsty's, JoeL and Dugan. I'm sure many of you ran across them when you had to go pick up supplies. I'll bet I spent 40 or 50 dollars there myself. Don't have any idea what the deal is with the Joan Jett--they probably don't either.

This is a picture of Thirsty's today, right there next to Hungri's. Alas, apparently out of business......

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

If you are planning to attend the reunion (or even think you might) drop us a quick line if you get a chance---got something brewing and am trying to get an accurate count. Thanks. email northscotthall@aol.com

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Got a couple of questions concerning photos. Frankly, I don't know how to send them(or receive them, for that matter), so here is how we are going to do this. Take your photos and make copies (copy machine, printer, etc). Take the COPIES send them to us. We will then post them on the blog--our standards may not be very high, but we do have them, so please use some discretion with the pics. Send them to "Chuck"
324 E. Wisconsin Ave--Suite 405
Milwaukee, Wi 53202

Also, a couple of 5th floor girls are planning on joining us for the reunion. Faye and Jamie, look forward to seeing you!!

Monday, August 24, 2009

Hey we're getting some support for our reunion from Miller Brewing Co. They support us, hope you support them!

A couple of girls don't recall being in Scott Hall pictures. Perhaps these shots from the 1980 Christmas party will help with the ol' memory. Happy Holidays!

By the way, who is that Santa?

Sunday, August 23, 2009

Here we have some pictures of people who have said they are planning to attend the reunion. We've got Rebs, Russell, Mary, Chuck, Shoobie, Thad and Doug. Am hoping for some pictures to arrive from some other folks this coming week. Don't forget to contact everyone you know from the Oshkosh days and encourage them to join us in October....

Friday, August 21, 2009

Couple of pictures here of folks we have contacted who haven't gotten back to us yet. There is still plenty of time for people to join us in Oshkosh in October, so spread the word. Looking forward to seeing you all this fall!!

Thursday, August 20, 2009

We are now basically 8 weeks from the reunion. THIS WILL GO VERY FAST!!!!!! Hope you are all finalizing your plans! Do not DIT it, do it today......

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Judging from the background and the drinking vessels in these pictures, it would appear to me that these are pictures of a progressive party. I'm sure you all remember these events. Three or four rooms would get together and mix up a concoction for the rest to share. Once it was gone, move on to the next room. I always thought it was so nice that we would start on the guys end of the dorm so that we could make sure everything was going okay.

Monday, August 17, 2009

Here we are, just a little less than 9 weeks until the reunion weekend. Just checked one of our counters and I find 158 unique visitors to the blog for the past week. Don't know who you all are, but I hope you all plan on attending the reunion.

Mary has gotten ahold of Fratello's, the brew pub on the Fox River a little north of campus. They are holing some tables for us, so if you are interested in dinner on Friday the 16th call 920-232-2337 for a resevation. Tell them your with Mary for the North Scott reunion. Hope to see a bunch of you there. Keep checking back in for more information and great pictures (speaking of pictures, we are always looking for more!!).

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Well, we have a gem .....looks like a little toga party action. I'm guessing late '78 early '79 here. We've got Laurie Keller, Julie McCabe and Sherri Nettisheim in the front row, Mark Wenzel in the back row, and in the middle looks like we've got Mark Bell, Andrew Gingrasso, probably Jane Beno, and the other two girls I can't make out. Sorry ladies, but if its you (or you know who they are), let us know and we'll fill 'em in.

Mary says the girl on the right is Betsy Lamb and I believe her. One mystery girl left........

Get Fired Up

OK, the Party Music playlist is now up to 100 songs. Check it out. If this doesn't start to get you fired up, maybe it's time for you to get your AARP Card and settle into your easy chair. CLICK HERE to go to the tunes. Send an e-mail to e-mail northscotthall@aol.com if you have other songs that you wan to add to the list.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Well, here we have a few pictures from the Mary Wichmann files. Looks to be one our famous 12 pack hall parties....Let's see, Dan (nice beard) and Brett in some kind of business transaction, Mose firing up a little Animal House action, Chuck wearing Oscar's hat (Don't ask), Shoobie in the Farrah T-shirt (think it was vintage then already), and Harold wisely having a Miller Lite (good for career plans, eh?). I would imagine about 6:45 the next morning Stalin was cleaning up the cans......

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Well, we might just as well finish this off while we are at it.....this is 80/81, 54 people in the picture. I don't recall where these steps are (help!), and there are plenty of people here I don't recall. Perhaps Roy, Mel and Tom G. and help us out here. Let's start with....

Here we have 7th Floor North Scott circa '79/'80. Alas, no one here was wise enough to put down everyone's name, so we gotta' do it now. We have 44 people in the picture, so I numbered them starting at the lower left. If you know someone (or if I screwed up) drop an email or hit the comment box. This shouldn't take too long, should it?

26 down, only 18 to go......

GEEZ, JUST CHECKED THE QUAILTY WHEN I ENLARGED THE PICTURE, PRETTY CRUMMY--WILL TRY TO DO BETTER. JUST FIND YOURSELF, I'M SURE YOU ALL REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE STANDING/SITTING, AND THEN CHECK YOUR NEIGHBOR....

Alright, here we have 7th floor from '78/'79. We'll be trying to track down as many of these folks as we can, now that we have more names. I know there were a heck of a lot more people living on the floor back then....must have all been in class or at the library.

Got a couple of notes saying the pictures were too small to see. Click on the picture, people. Hope this helps.....

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Okay, just got some pictures in from Mary, a virtual treasure trove. As much as I'd like to post all of the pictures now, I can't, because they are just too good. I'm going to start here with a picture from the way, WAY back machine, something taken a little earlier than when most of us lived in North Scott---though there are those we know. How bout the foresight of Mary to record everyone's name. Now I can't believe that 7th floor was the only floor to have floor pictures taken, so if they're out there (and I know they are!) drop me a line so we can get them on the blog. And play close attention here because there are many more photos to come....

Sunday, August 9, 2009

Hey State Fair is in full swing, have had a wonderful time there over the years. Some of us are planning on meeting Friday the 14th, so if you're out on the grounds on Friday stop by Robert's on Grandstand Ave around 6 (maybe a little earlier?) and say hi. Hope to see ya'.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

After deep thought (not so much) have been able to remember a couple of other profs. Davey Jones of the Poli Sci dept may have been my last instructor (watch the borders, if you were there you'll understand). And I believe one of my first professors was good ol' Rassmuesson (sp?) for Accounting I back in the fall of '78. Think I was 4-3. I know where 4-1 and 4-2 are, but have no clue as to whatever happened to 4-4. She seemed like a nice girl, probably thought we were nuts....

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

So I've been visiting colleges with my son, looking for a good fit. I'm sure many of you have done the same. One of their selling points always seems to be how easy it is to sit down and have a cup of coffee to discuss things with the professors. This gets me to thinking, they don't need coffee, they need MINGLE TINGLE!!! There was a place you could talk to some professors! As I personally think back though, I can only remember five or six profs. There was Watson Parker (favorite), Dr Okhs (scared me), Werner Brattz, the speech guy who reminded me of Bob Newhart, and of course Dr. Keen, all dressed up like Roy Orbison. I can't even think of another--I need to look this up. Any recollections of professors out there? Either post a comment or head over to the bulletin board and share some memories.....

Sunday, August 2, 2009

Alright, here's one for the "this can't be true" column. Was looking at some stuff online about UW-O and found this site---http://everything2.com/?node_id=104283. There really is no reason to go there, I only list it for proof in case anyone doubts what I say here. On this site it says that North Scott Hall 5th floor is designated as a quite floor. This baffles me. Was it always so designated? I know a few people who lived on this floor, they were not quiet! I remember some trolling---not quiet! Somebody please fill me in, I need to know!!!

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

So I'm sitting around the other day with a buddy of mine and he says he's decided to start chewing again, and he wanted to know if I wanted a dip. Well, I quit cold turkey about 14 years ago when my (then) little boy started walking around spitting. I will admit that there are many days when I think I could go for a pinch, but I think I'll hold off for at least a few more years. It did get me to thinking, though, about how many pounds off this stuff did we go through, and what ever happened to all that "soup starter" we left around town. If you're still chewin', I would suggest you quit, it can't be good for you. On the other hand, I'm sittin' on about $800 worth of Skoal coupons from some tobacco settlement, if you're interested, let me know....

Thursday, July 23, 2009

So here's a good one for ya', but I really need some help with this, don't know how I got started thinking about it. Who remembers "the Mounds"? I seem to remember there were 8 of these hills kind of to the west of Polk. I know when I got to Oshkosh they kept these things pretty well manicured. Then the let 'em go--I heard either lack of funds for upkeep or they decided they were too dangerous to mow (somebody got hurt?). Finally came back one fall and they were gone. Think they were an art project? I'm sure somebody knows more than I do on this subject, so fill me in.....

Monday, July 20, 2009

Wonderful afternoon at the Waukesha County Fair yesterday. All Scott people I saw were having a real nice time. As for REO, they just can't stop rockin". Quite the demographics in the crowd. Guess the farmers and bikers can't stop rockin' either.

Bulletin Board - post you commennts

This is Shoobie posting this time. I set up a bulletin board so that we can get some conversations going between everyone (versus only the blog entries up to this point). I started a couple of topics to get the conversations started. Feel free you add your comments to these topics or start some of your own. Should be interesting and fun to hear from everyone! Have fun and keep it clean :)
Here is the link: http://northscotthall.proboards.com

So I'm sittin' there channel surfing when my good friends at Time Life are broadcasting one of their infomercials with tunes from the 60's. Got me to thinking about Kenny's 60's party back in '82. Seems I remember this party was postponed a week after it was scheduled (death in the family). Of course, I was working at the union and had rearranged my schedule, and was unable to change it back after the party got rescheduled. By the time I got there the party tapes had just about run their course---however, Kenny was nice enough to start them all over again. Six hours of the classics. Passed out people strewn all about. Finally, Jack and doughnuts for breakfast. Kenny is already planning to attend the reunion, and I can get ahold of Brian. No idea on Jim and Randy. Anybody have any info---anybody else remember this classic party?????

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Just checked the weekly counters--don't know who all the people reading are, but as long as you're reading I'll try to keep writing. Anybody else wants to get in let us know, we'll get you enabled. Here's a quick update on where some of us will be getting together in the next few weeks.

July 21-22 Wisconsin Dells---gotta' love the Kalahari

July 23-26 Falls Fest in Menomonee Falls---Check with Cheryl in the beer tent near the ball fields, she'll know where we are at.

Aug 14 and 15 Wisconsin State Fair---We'll check out Robert's on Grandstand Ave around 6pm each day (we may be there more often, never can tell). Have fun at the fair.

September 6 Chuckapalooza--Private party, you'd like an invite, get in touch.

September 27--Mel's Pig Roast--Cedarburg, check previous post for more info--See you there....

More info to come......

Thursday, July 9, 2009

We are now a mere 100 days away from the reunion. Hopefully you are making your travel and lodging arrangements so you don't have to wait until the last minute. Keep checking back here as we get closer to the reunion for updates on plans, who we are looking for, etc. Anybody with any pictures are encouraged to contact us and we'll get them up on the site. Thanks.

Was down on the lake today, saw some sailboats, and it got me to thinking about the Scott Hall Regatta again. Don't think that I ever saw a sailboat at Regatta, and I never made it to Fett's boat in '79, but whatever. I do remember Spid Peeper and remember winding up in New Cow in '79 though, and the small incident with Officer Bob. Thanks to Mose for keeping me out of the big house there. Then there was '80 and the wonderful Sigmund Snopek. Clown walking around in the spaceman outfit. What a buzz kill. I remember in '81 when I was playing in the softball tournament with the Teamsters and had the accident with the lighter fluid and started myself on fire. Thanks Gipp for putting me out. I think that the pictures are from'82, when we moved down to Rainbow Park to try and avoid the lake flies (hope they still have those damn things---every student should get to experience them...). Somebody else was running the thing by then, but we still knew how to have a few beers (looks like Old Style (maybe Blatz)...only the best for us...). Little change up with the beer tickets by '83, but by then we we wise to the ways of the would.....(it's not what you know, but who you know.....). If there are any more pictures out there, let me know and we'll figure a way to get them posted......

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Okay, went down to see Huey last night. Good show, had a good time. Now, I checked out the area in front of the golf thing a couple of times--some people looked vaguely familiar, but not enough for me to be sure if they were from Scott. Also, there were three girls and a guy that I stood by for most of the concert. I think I have seen them before (so sure I would probably bet on it). I was about to ask them if I knew them when the guy in his patriotic Mt. Rushmore shirt made his move on the short girl. I was laughing pretty good---interesting sight. So if any of you people are reading this and were there, identify yourselves---driving me nuts now. Also, I've finally figured out that after 30 or so years people's looks have changed, suppose I won't recognize everybody.

Also heard from Mary that Julie will be at the reunion. I think she was my Secret Santa one year, it will be nice to see her.

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Well, 107 days to go until the reunion. Hope that many of you are making your plans for the trip to Oshkosh. Have recently heard from a few more people that we've been looking for, and am really hoping they can join us for the reunion. I have a number of people to get back to, and plan on doing that in the next couple of days. Don't forget to take care of your lodging needs beforehand. I know that I am looking to a fun packed weekend of catching up with old friends and learning what's been going on with you all. To those I've been in touch with, stay in touch. And to those on the fence make your plans now to be in Oshkosh in October. Initial itinerary to be posted by tomorrow--all in a state of flux fright now, so if you have any ideas, drop us a line at northscotthall@aol.com.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Loads of fun last night at Summerfest in Milwaukee. All who attended had a great time. Many thanks to our corporate partner Miller/Coors and Super Dave for a great time. Being at Summerfest brings back lots of memories spent there with the old gang--Jackson Browne, Hall and Oates, The Beach Boys, Boz Scaggs, Mellencamp among many .......dropped a few Dracmas there over the years. More get togethers are being planned for the rest of the summer leading up to the reunion, so keep an eye on the blog. Enjoy summer.....

Monday, June 29, 2009

Just remembered, I'm still looking for my Frank Sinatra and Roy Orbinson albums. I got a hunch....Girls??????

Saturday, June 27, 2009

Some of us are planning on meeting at Summerfest in Milwaukee this coming week. Look for us in the Martini tent on Tuesday the 30th at 4-6 (out on the grounds after that). Also will be down there on the 4th and 5th. We'll be watching for ya'.....

Heard some KC and the Sunshine Band this morning (That's The Way I Like It---hint Shoobie) and it got me to thinking about how we used to go trollin' after the bars which got me to thinking about the time the fire fighters had to come and the one lost his glove and then how we had to go around and make sure there were no open flames (candles) and then how there was an accident with one of those liquid candles and I remember very well what happened after that, but what I don't know is where is Sandy Iwanski---anybody have any information?

Heard from our old friend, renowned backgammon player Mike Mesenbrink (better known as, or dare I say only known as Moby). Says that he is going to try and make it up for the reunion. Maybe he will tell us stories about lips and horns (and other stuff). Perhaps now we'll hear more from the Cedarburg Connection.....I can hear the REO now. Eh, looks like rock and a hard place in the game, though....

Added some songs to the playlist

Thanks for the requests Chuck, Cathy, Deb, Russ. I need more requests - what songs did we party to? Send your requests to northscotthall@aol.com. Check out the playlist here

Had a chance to meet with Deb, Russ, Shoobie over the past weekend and here is what we decided we are going to do. We are going to post an "itinerary" as to where we plan to be and approximate times so that folks will know where the group is hanging out at a particular time on the 17th and 18th. We are also planning to post a list of names of people we are unable to locate--if there is someone out there you are looking to find, be sure to let us know and we will include them on that list. Finally, right here and now, we are going to list the people we believe that have been contacted about the reunion. This may be through the mail, e-mail or good old word of mouth. If you see somebody on this list you know we hope you would encourage them to join us in Oshkosh in October. Of course, if you see your name we want you to join us as well. Some of the people on this list have told us they are thinking about joining us, others have said they may be in town, while others we have not heard from. What we hope to accomplish with this is to get some more people in the "planning on attending" list. So with no further delay, and in no particular order, here we go..........

Hey! Only 130 days until the reunion---anybody seen Laynor yet????
I want to take a quick moment here to let everyone know about a great event involving one of our former hall mates. Tom Stanton, known to most as Mel, is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met (if you don't count the Cleveland Browns thing, but they're pretty much harmless anyways). For the past 5 or 6 years Mel has been involved with a local fundraiser in the Cedarburg area known as Mel's Pig Roast. They have done a great job raising money for local charities and such, and more than one person (not Mel) have told me it is a real good time. This years event in on Sunday, Sept 27th from 11-5. Take a couple of minutes and check out the web site at melspigroast.com. If you're in the area I hope you can make plans to attend. I hope to see you there!

Got an email the other day from Cheryl Sykora--nice to hear from her. Seems that a friend of hers forwarded the blog site to her. This is a wonderful thing. It also brings me to this point. If I find out you know about this site, don't expect to get any personal invites from me. If you know, you know (of course, you never know until you know). So, Sue, Trish, Lisa, Amy and Mary (friends of Cheryl), consider yourselves informed and invited--we look forward to seeing you in October.

As you can see, Cheryl, I told you I had a picture around here somewhere....I'll see if I can track down Cindy--see if we can make it 100 percenter. I also seem to remember something about some Jello shots on a geography field trip, yes?
Saw Larry and Jane this past weekend at the state track meet in La Crosse. Their son had a good race in the 300m hurdles--2nd in D2. Congrats to them--and to us, because Larry says he will be at the reunion. I imagine Jane will be there as well. Rah...

Don't know what got me to thinking about this, but....What do you remember about Nov. 16, 1981?

Of course, the wedding of good old Luke and Laura! And all the memories of Mitch Williams and Roy Deluca, The Campus Disco, Frank Smith, Scott Baldwin, Robert Scorpio and Tiffany Hill, Beecher's Corners (Lloyd and Lucy Johnson), and who can forget the Ice Princess--the Quartermaines and the Cassidines? Ah, the wasted afternoons---now for a little Herb Alpert........

Music to get the Party Started

Here are some songs played hundreds of times in Scott Hall 1978-81. Send your list of favorites to northscotthall@aol.com and we will add them to the list. Below is a sampling, CLICK HERE TO SEE THE FULL PLAYLIST.
Hard to believe that we are at 145 days until our event...we are in the process of setting up a kind of time line as to where we will be, what we will be doing, etc., so if anyone has any great ideas, let us know...

Got to have lunch with Mary Wichmann this past weekend--had a very nice time...She was wondering where all the girls were, so if you're out there give us a shout and let us know what your up to....

Nearly finished contacting the people I have addresses for from the Alum Assoc. If you are in contact with anyone from the old days, please let them know about our upcoming reunion---the more the merrier....

Took a few photos of some local landmarks last month while in Oshkosh....everybody able to identify these buildings??? What about how much time spent in each????

I guess you could call this the preferred lodging for the reunion (no beer in the dorms, Burrow Inn unavailable). There is a block of rooms there (don't know how many are left)--am sure we will be able to get more. Let them know you are in for the reunion--$70/night. Pool open 24/7, should be extra time to catch up. This is the old Park Plaza, downtown Oshkosh.

Just took a look at a weekly report we get letting us know how many visitors we get to the blog and on what day, stuff like that. By my quick count I have contacted about 85 people--I assume they are getting the info because the good ol' USPS has only returned a couple of letters to me. According to the weekly report we had 109 unique visitors to the blog last week. That is obviously more people than I have contacted, so thanks to all for getting the word out. I don't know who you all are (get no info on that), but I hope you're being entertained. If your so inclined drop us a quick note at northscotthall@aol.com, would like to hear from whoever is checking this out. Keep spreading the word, and if you want us to try and track somebody down let us know.

Got to thinking some after I carefully read Dugan's comments to the 5/1 post....if his price numbers are correct, then I have some change coming--I distinctly remember $3.00 for a six pack of PBR on my first day ever in Oshkosh. Remember Joe from Thirsty's? Wonderful guy, little wild at times...

Still love free beer.....

Was thinking about the Florida trip in the Spring of '80. I'm sure many of you made it south during the spring breaks, and all have great stories to recall and share, but I doubt if any can top Larry the bus driver (best ever). No messin' with Larry. He assigned seats before we left, ran with the drains open, didn't take any misbehavin' from the back up driver, cruised the beach in Florida with the bus, and found us three cans of warm malt liquor when we were having withdrawal symptoms from a day at Disney. Long sleeve shirt the whole way, never sweated. Many more memories of the trip as well--gallons of wine on the bus (what were they thinking?),mooning Chicago, bringing in ringers for the volleyball tourney, walking two miles to save a buck on a twelve pack of Busch, having some guy try to sell me carbonated beverages and precious metals, vodka and pool water--and of course the ride home with no a/c on the bus...good thing we could get into the Dwelling to have a place to sleep. Wonder whatever happened to the Fenning sisters.....

This is one of my favorite memories from the Scott Hall days. Just now realized that it will be 30 years tomorrow since my first North Scott Hall Regatta. Ya' gotta' Regatta....That was sure an interesting day for me....went to Little Chute with Russell to pick up the beer wagon and 6 half barrels...when we got there they were welding it together--should have known there would be problems. Had to tow the beer wagon back to Oshkosh with a van---heading south on 41, little bit of rain, in a hurry to get to the lake...next thing ya' know, snapped the tow bar, I'm spinning, Russ passes me (no brakes)....there go the half barrels bouncing down the highway. We finally got stopped, everything still upright--people stop, not checking on us, but bringing back the half barrels--unbelievable! Only got better from there...plenty of beer, cruddy weather, little boating, Spid Peeper--wonderful day overall (we'll forget about the trip to New Holstein).....

BEEN THINKING ABOUT MUSIC (PART ONE)

Been thinking about some of the music we were listening to back in the old Oshkosh days (must have heard something on the radio). Decided to check some old cassette tapes and albums to see what I could come up with (finally got rid of the 8 tracks Mel, so no help there).

Seems to me we had Springsteen, Mellencamp, Petty---not much different there. Then there was Bob Seeger, Jackson Browne, Pat Benetar. Of course the tail end of the disco era and all that went along with that. Then there was the Urban Cowboy period and the country and country rock with the likes of Skynard, Marshall Tucker, the Outlaws....

I'm trying to remember some of the floor favorites---Tommie with Rod Stewart, Shoobie with Cheap Trick, Fleetwood Mac and ELO, Phil and one of my favs (Doucette), and of course the Cedarburg guys with that damn REO. Also seem to remember a lot of Meatloaf and progressive parties......

am sure I am forgetting a lot--somebody help me.....

....to be continued......

Thursday, April 30, 2009

I have recievied from the Alumni Association names and addresses (some email) of a little over 300 people who graduated from Oshkosh and lived in North Scott between fall l978 and spring l981. Some of you have relocated to all corners of the country, others still remain in Oshkosh. I have decided that I am going to contact people in the following way. If I have an email address for you, I will get around to sending out an email. If I only have a street address I will handle these in the following manner. If I know you, you will hear from me. If I think I know you or your name looks kind of familiar, you will probably hear from me. If I only know your nickname, I may need some help, and you may or may not hear from me. If you have moved far far away, you probably won't hear from me. No offense, just playing the odds. If somebody else knows you and I have any information, you will hear from them. And then there's the old luck of the draw--I've been dropping the pencil and taking my chances. If somebody else directed you here and you didn't get a personal invite, don't be bitter at me, just be happy you've gotten the info and plan on joining us in Oshkosh in October. Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Well, I heard from the Wenz yesterday. It's Markie Anna now. You can check this out for yourself at Classmates.com under Markie Anna Wenzel, or check out the blog over at msmarkieanna.tumblr.com. Quite the story....

Monday, April 27, 2009

Spent the day in Oshkosh yesterday, went to Kelly's, had a Magnet Dog--Great memories, food, not so much. Beer was good and cold though. Those of you who were there 12 or 13 years ago when we decorated the ceiling tile will be disappointed to learn that it is gone (roof leaks). However, we are invited back in October to make a new one. Not much more than that left on the Strip, things sure have changed.....

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Upon review of the settings of this blog we are allowed up to 100 authors, so if you are interested drop me an email at northscotthall@aol.com. Let me know the email address you would like to use (I guess they need it to enable you). I have to limit this to the next 98 people who are interested, so let me know asap. Thanks.

Just a couple of pictures of the finest athletes Oshkosh has produced......

Just received some pictures from Dan that I just had to get on here....I'm sure you all still look the same, too. If anyone has some good pictures for the blog you can send them to northscotthall@aol.com and I will get them put on here.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Spent the morning in Oshkosh today--a wonderful spring day....Met with Christine Gantner, head of the Alumni Association. She was very helpful. There is an entire day of events planned for the day, basically all we have to do is show up and have a good time. There is no parade this year, but a bike race instead. All are invited to participate. The homecoming breakfast is not at Pollack this year, but at the new Student Rec Center (quite the facility). They have a pre and post game tailgate party at what is called Tent City, set up right next to Titan Stadium. The football game against Point is at 1:30, the 5th Quarter is at The Hilton Garden Inn. There will also be campus and Scott Hall tours if one is so inclined.

Also received word Phil Lamers will be joining us at the reunion. Yeah!

Sunday, April 12, 2009

Alright everyone, we have a winner----This is Barney from Clubhouse Powww, and TJ and the ANT stood (Stands?) for Television Jockey and the All Night Television...who knew--besides Noreen (think she did some surfing...)--Proper prize will be awarded at the reunion. Pay attention for more questions and info to follow.....And thanks to Gip for the info on more people planning to attend.

Monday, April 6, 2009

Good evening to all....Spirits have been buoyed some by the fact that people are checking out the blog (although not dropping an email to lets us know if they are planning to join us or not). I have had some success tracking down some more names and plan on dropping another mailing soon. Also if you click on the pictures they will enlarge, making them easier to see. I have an appointment in Oshkosh with Christine Gantner (head of the Alumni Assoc) next Thursday, and I hope to have more to report then. Less than 200 days to go now.....

Thursday, April 2, 2009

This is the flier I've come up with for the reunion (thanks Aleah). I'm going to use it as I contact more people. Anybody want changes made let me know asap before I get copies made. I'm also working on an "agenda", so if you have any ideas you want included--let me know. Sent out a bunch of letters last week, got zero response--disappointed, yes, deterred, never--will spend my time on others. Also if there may be somebody you'd like for me to try and track down, let me know! Have been pretty successful so far. I'm trying to set aside some time to visit Oshkosh to check in with the Alumni people---maybe in the middle of the month.....Less than 200 days to go now, won't be long.....

Saturday, March 28, 2009

Well, I was able to track down everyone in the picture below (I think). Sent out letters on Sat (Late)---if you received one of these letters please pass the info on to anyone you may have kept in touch with through the years. Starting to feel a sense of urgency as we get down to these last 200 days before the reunion......Looking forward to getting in touch with more people, and posting more pictures---its all good (so far).

Thursday, March 26, 2009

This is the project for the rest of the week, so.......Sue, H, Tommie, Larry, Wenz, Rebs, Bruce, I'll be looking for you....and I'll probably find you.

What we have here are a few pictures of people
I have contacted--they haven't said if they are
going to make it to the reunion or not. Must be busy planning their trips.....next up will be some pics of
the next group of people I'm going to try and contact--still have plenty of other shots to get to as well.....

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Just a few snaps of some of the folks planning to attend the reunion.....

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Well, here is the floor picture from 79/80 7th floor. Still trying to figure out who some of these people are and where they are at. Quite the crowd. If you have any info please let us know......

Monday, March 23, 2009

Wonderful time getting together with some of the guys yesterday......seemed to have solved my problem with posting pics, so that will be coming up---we've decided that we are going to put a little "schedule of events" together for the weekend, so the first draft of that will be up soon. Also we are going to put a "flyer' together when we make some contacts throught the mail. If anybody has any ideas of things they want included (we had everything from Oaks Candies to a tour of the Union) be sure to let us know asap. Also let us know if you think your going to be able to make it to the reunion, we'll get you on the Planning to Attend List. Watch for many updates in the next few days....

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Well we're continuing to find people from our past...seems like people have kept in touch with a person or two, who have done the same, kinda' mushrooming--its great. The thing is that when I get an email or letter from somebody its like I can hear their voice, clear as a bell--even after all these years. Its fun to find out what folks have been up to, catching up with old friends. It'll be good to see everyone come October--buts lots to do before then!

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I have recieved word from multiple reports that the pictures haven't been comming through (I see them just fine, good for me I guess). I'll try and figure it out. Sent out a bunch of letters this week, hoping for responses. Looking forward to seeing some of the gang next Sunday, get some more things planned out. Will keep everyone up to date.

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Well I recieved word this week that the Alumni Association has email addresses for 90 of the 300 some odd names I sent them of the people who graduated from UW-O who also lived in North Scott from '78-'80. It will be interesting to see who we hear from. I'm wondering if there will be that one person we try to find who we are unable to --hope not. So far I think I've been able to find an address for everyone I've looked for, but admittedly I'm just starting off. I guess time will tell.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Just got word from Shoobie that Kenny is planning on attending---sweet!

Monday, February 23, 2009

Just recieved an email from Gip- Her and Scaboo are in. She also has kept in touch with quite a few people, so we're starting to find Teamsters. Lots of 'em out there too....Next up, I'm thinking Spunky or the Cedasburg Connection. We shall see...

Friday, February 20, 2009

It's always nice to hear from someone from back in the day. Mary, really looking forward to seeing you, can hardly wait to see who we can find next....

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Just spent a couple of hours in the way back machine.....found a cache of old greeting cards and letters, a couple of old photos, some old cassette tapes--all I needed was a couple of "Coopers" to really take me back----am more determined than ever to track down old friends....

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Good day to all!! Just finished up some interesting math facts. During the '78/'79 and '79/'80 school years there were a total of 975 students (people?) living in North Scott Hall--officially, not counting any overnight visitors. Of this number, 359 graduated from UW-O between 1982 and 1985. I did find a couple of people who graduated in 1979 (I didn't know there were seniors at Scott when I was there--where did they study?). I also found one person who was there in '79 and graduated in 1987 (excellent). That's a whopping 37%. I do know some people who went on to graduate from other schools, and I don't know (and never will) how it compares to the other dorms--someone else can figure that out......

1980 - 1981 7th Floor Residents

Here are the folks that lived on the 7th floor 1980-81. Do you know names or better yet contact info for anyone in this picture???
